Da los alumnos de un sólido conocimiento de las técnicas más innovadoras de gestión empresarial aplicadas al sector turístico, con un especial énfasis en las nuevas tecnologías, así como en el desarrollo de las habilidades directivas que cada vez son más el factor diferencial de los profesionales que triunfan.

El programa sigue la misma estructura “blended” (presencial/online) que el máster. Comienza en Febrero y termina en Julio de 2012. Su formato “blended”, combinando periodos de formación presencial y on line, permite su seguimiento sin necesidad de que los participantes deban abandonar por un espacio prolongado de tiempo o con mucha asiduidad su lugar de residencia profesional . Supone sólo dos cortos periodos presenciales en Madrid y el resto en formato online.

El claustro hereda a los profesores full-time del IE Business School que han impartido sus materias en el Executive Master en Dirección de Empresas Turísticas a lo largo de los últimos 8 años y se refuerza con profesionales de la talla de: Albert Barra CEO, HotelJuice), Alvaro Carrillo de Albornoz (Director Gral., ITH), Fracisco Catalá (VP Human Resources, NH Hoteles), Angel Díaz (Presidente, ALS Services), Ramón Estalella (Secretario Gral, CEHAT), Felipe González Abad (Senior Manager, Amadeus), José Oscar López (Director Financiero, GAT), Pilar Monzón (Directora Gral, Intercontinental Porto Palacio das Cardosas), Javier Pet (Consejero-Director Gral. Zahoz hostelería), Carlos Erburu (Director, Gerbers Bars España), Carlos Rentero (Director Revenue Management and Online Distribution, Vincci Hoteles) o Isaac Vidal (Director Gral. Instituto de Turismo de Elche, reconocido blogger y profesional del marketing de destinos).

El perfil de los candidatos hasta ahora es quizá más senior que loa media histórica del progama máster, quizá por la menor exigencia de tiempo y porque mantiene la parte funcional de las herramientas de gestión que aporta un MBA combinadas con el análisis 360º del sector de Travel&Tourism.

Además, aquellos que cursen este programa adquieren también el estatus de Antiguos Alumnos del IE, con todos los beneficios que ello supone.

Desde hace tiempo estamos viendo de una manera muy evidente cómo los gestores turísticos se enfrentan a situaciones imprevistas que alteran el desarrollo de su actividad.  Fenómenos naturales adversos como terremotos, erupciones volcánicas,  huracanes, tsunamis, huelgas y otros acontecimientos difíciles de prever afectan al conjunto de la industria turística y los responsables de las empresas del sector (agencias de viajes, touroperadores, hotelería, compañías aéreas..) desconocen con frecuencia cómo actuar y hasta dónde llega la responsabilidad de su compañía.

Este, como otros temas que tratamos de analizar en el Área de Turismo de IE Business School, será el eje de la próxima jornada que celebramos el 2 de noviembre. Con el apoyo técnico de Tourism&Law, firma especializada en el asesoramiento legal en el sector turístico, y el patrocinio de la Fundación Intermundial trateremos de responder a éstas y otras cuestiones en la jornada “Responsabilidad y Gestión ante los Hechos Imprevisibles”. Esta será la primera de una serie de jornadas patrocinadas por la Fundación Intermundial.

UNWTO has decided to partner with the IE for purposes of providing deserving students with an opportunity to benefit from a scholarship offered by IE, for study on the Executive Master in Tourism Management program. With this agreement, IE as a Affiliate Member of the UNWTO and to contributing to the organization’s goals by providing access to executive-level training for tourism industry leaders, and with financial assistance.

  1. Two (2) scholarships worth 50% of tuition fees for Tourism Administration officials of UNWTO Member States .
  2. Three (3) scholarships worth 30% of tuition fees for Affiliate Members of the UNWTO.
  3. Standing 25% scholarship for any employee or consultant of the UNWTO who is admitted to the program.  While there is no limit to these awards, UNWTO employees and consultants will not be able to access the primary five (5) scholarships.

All scholarships will be paid for via funding from the IE Foundation. All applications for scholarships sponsored by the IE Foundation should be submitted through the Financial Aid Online Scholarship Application before the start date of the course, preferably as soon as admitted to the program and intake of preference.
